How do you feed a cicada?
I have a male cicada waiting to harden and when he does I want to feed him and be sure he does not die before the waxy buildup and formation of the timbals. I’ve read on a site called Massachusetts cicadas that the cicada-owner put twigs in a jar full of water but I want to know is there another way to feed a cicada? I have a two-year-old bamboo but do I need to go outside and fetch some plants or twigs? I broke a branch off a tree with red leaves and I thought they were feeding from that but they died.
You might try a sugar/water mix in some cotton wool. Change it often.
