how do i get into using cloth nappies?
I’m interested in using cloth nappies I’m a bit hazy on the different types i had a demonstration from a lady at tots bots and i liked the bamboo shaped nappy but i have found them to be a bit pricey, I’m also interested in using flat nappies but wondered how to actually use them, for instance do i need to use a booster and are they likely to leak as they don’t have elasticated leg bands
Tots Bots Bamboozles are great, especially for night time- but yes compared to flat nappies, they are pricey. Terry squares are a trusted oldie, and folding really isnt the nightmare most people anticipate. All you will need is a nappy cover, like these http://www.fill-your-pants.com/section/8/1/nappy-wraps for waterproofing. You might get some leaks at the legs at first with ‘newborn poop’, but a good fitting wrap will keep it contained.
Boosters may be used at night times- or if you are struggling to get them to last through the night, a couple of the Tots Bots might be worth the investment!
Another economical option is a one-size, like the bumgenius
http://www.fill-your-pants.com/product/54/18/bumgenius-one-size-reusable-nappy-3-0, as like the flats, you wont need to buy bigger sizes as your baby grows.
Just remember, whatever type of cloth nappy you choose, youll still be saving mega bucks over disposables! So its a good choice!
